Facial Rejuvenation

The Hallmark of a Great Plastic Surgery is a Natural Appearance

Dr. Barnett does not advertise her services. She prefers to let her work speak for itself. The hallmark of good facial rejuvenation is a natural appearance. Dr. Barnett strives to achieve this for her patients with an eye on the long run. A high percentage of Dr. Barnett’s business is composed of repeat patients. They come not just because they have encountered compassionate, excellent service, but also because they can trust that Dr. Barnett will not turn them into the caricature of an overly-stretched Hollywood celebrity.

Dr. Barnett feels it is attention to detail that make a great facial plastic surgeon. You can see this just by walking into the beautifully appointed Sarasota Institute of Plastic Surgery, which she personally designed. It is evident in her use of Botox to selectively weaken ground muscles rather than totally paralyze them, thus achieving a wrinkle-free result without the unnatural frozen look. It is seen in her skillful use of fillers and replacement rather than old fashioned excisions and tightening. It is seen in the delicate stitchery and nearly invisible placement of incisions.

Dr. Barnett’s procedures are customized to each patient’s unique situation. Dr. Barnett performs many procedures in her office. Her gentle manner often makes these procedures feel more like a Spa treatment than surgery; it is in keeping with her philosophy that the best outcomes occur when SCIENCE is married with ART.

For safety reasons, larger procedures are performed in fully certified, top of the line outpatient surgery centers under the supervision of a board certified anesthesiologist. Dr. Barnett demands excellence of her support personnel as well as herself.

Face Lift

If you are bothered by the signs of aging in your face, a facelift may be right for you. Technically known as a rhytidectomy, a facelift is a surgical procedure to improve visible signs of aging in the face and neck, such as:

  • Sagging in the midface
  • Deep creases below the lower eyelids
  • Deep creases along the nose extending to the corner of the mouth
  • Fat that has fallen or is displaced
  • Loss of muscle tone in the lower face may create jowls
  • Loose skin and excess fatty deposits under the chin and jaw can make even a person of normal weight appear to have a double chin

Neck Lift

Brow Lift

If you are bothered by expression lines or other signs of aging in the brow region, a brow lift may be right for you. A brow lift:

  • Minimizes the creases that develop across the forehead, or those that occur high on the bridge of the nose, between the eyes.
  • Improves what are commonly referred to as frown lines, vertical creases that develop between the eyebrows
  • Repositions a low or sagging brow that is hooding the upper eyelid.
  • Raises the eyebrows to a more alert and youthful position

Eyelid Surgery

Cosmetic eyelid surgery, called blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, and give a rejuvenated appearance to the surrounding areas of your eyes, making you look more rested and alert. Specifically, eyelid surgery can treat:

  • Loose or sagging skin that creates folds or disturbs the natural contour of the upper eyelid, sometimes impairing vision
  • Excess fatty deposits that appear as puffiness in the upper eyelids
  • Bags under the eyes
  • Droopiness of the lower eyelids, showing white below the iris
  • Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid
